Welcome To SMP
Shammas Motorcycle Performance is the Ann Arbor, MI area's epicenter for rapid 2-wheeled acceleration. Bob Shammas was an avid motorcycle drag racer throughout the 1990s, always innovating with new approaches to performance challenges.  Bob began pursuing LSR (Land Speed Racing) as his fix for speed in 2002, setting his first record in September of that year, and entering the prestigious ECTA 200mph Club.  Bob attended several ECTA meets at Maxton, NC with his 1990 ZX-11 turbo over the 2002 and 2003 seasons, setting a total of five 1000cc records over 200 mph.

Bob does all of the chassis and engine building as well as the tuning on all of his machines. Numerous ancillary systems are SMP designed and built, such as water injection and wastegate control systems. The ZX-11 utilizes an RB Racing turbo system and sports a downsized 997cc top end for racing in the 1000cc class.
